Happy 50th to Me!

August 13th, 2023 marked my 50th trip around the sun! I celebrated with a backyard BBQ & bonfire, surrounded by family and friends. I had a great time as did those who came to celebrate with me. Thank you to my girls who own Prairie Wolf Bakery who made my beautiful & delicious cake! Chocolate cake, peanut butter mousse filling, chocolate ganache & peanut brittle topping. To. Die. For. Except I want to live to eat more cake. (Also follow them on FB)

Even though I reflect daily, this milestone birthday gave me pause to truly celebrate the person I’ve become. Twenty-five years ago after a health scare, I chose to embark on an inner healing journey which has led me to some great people and places.

I’ve attended writers conferences, met great friends along the way, become an award-winning author, voice actor, and spiritual alchemist. While I haven’t always shared all the parts of who I am with people at any given time, I’ve always tried to be as authentic as I can in every situation. Learning to be more of who I am has been a process, and accepting I don’t have to hide parts of myself anymore to anyone has been a challenge.

While I haven’t published a book in a while, I have finished another one. This one took me years to write, and I’m in the first editing stage now. I don’t know which publishing route I will take with it, but I have enough knowledge now to make smarter decisions about publishing than I did when I first began over a decade ago. Completing a book is no small feat, and while recovering from personal health issues took much of my time and energy, it’s nice to feel the creativity coming back in the writing arena. I’m even feeling inspired to continue with a series of fiction books I began a couple of years ago, and that makes me feel good too.

While I may not have been writing, I have been creative. I’ve gotten back into voice acting, and our Qigong classes are taking off. I’ve collaborated with people dear to my heart on workshops. I’ve launched 4 writing courses for authors which can be found HERE

Sometimes it’s good to step back and take stock of everything you’ve done in your life. My children are almost all grown now with only one going into his last year of high school this year. Where has the time gone? As we all embark on new adventures, I’m excited to discover what else I’ll do and other things I want to learn. I give gratitude for those on the path with me, those who support me, and those I have yet to meet. I’m so blessed to be at this particular part of my life, and I can honestly say I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.

I look forward to more happy, more creativity, and seeing where the next 50 years takes me. It’s been a wild ride so far, and maybe right now I need a nap. Naps are good.

Much love,

Kellie
